"A.C. Lineberger House" Taken by James Dillon Yeager III

The Rosedale Plantation Paint Analysis was one of the larger projects Dillon completed during his 2021 summer internship with Historic Rosedale Foundation in Charlotte. Much of his time was spent developing archival systems to properly organize and preserve historic photographs and documents, bolstering his understanding of archive methodology and museum practices. While cataloging, Dillon also contextualized earlier research performed on Rosedale's historic paint treatments and finishes by compiling the information into Appendix L of Rosedale's Restoration History. Here, Dillon also conducted research on historic pigments and painting techniques popular during the Federal Period. Then, Dillon compared the data against Rosedale's existing conditions, which he documented and organized into digestible graphics based on the earlier analyses. In addition, Dillon's responsibilities included authoring an installment of Rosedale's monthly newsletter focused on the property's architectural history. Finally, Dillon presented his work to the Department of Architectural History at SCAD with his final internship board.
