"A.C. Lineberger House" Taken by James Dillon Yeager III
The Belmont Historic District Condition Assessments were conducted during Dillon's Conservation Science studio. In the studio, Dillon ventured into the field to document historic building materials, identify areas of deterioration, and conservation remediation. Part of this research also included documenting the site through architectural descriptions and photographs, as well as providing a history of the site. Through his condition assessments, Dillon developed skills for recognizing the fabric and integrity of construction materiality and exercised his use of preservation and sustainability best practices prescribed by the Secretary of the Interior and LEED. Part of Dillon's passion for preservation comes from the tangible historic fabric that makes up the built environment, and this work exemplifies the granular qualities of architecture that constitute communities' sense of place.
