The Certificate of Appropriateness Design Reference was one of the larger projects that Dillon completed during his 2022 summer internship with the Department of City Planning in Atlanta. As part of the Office of Design's Education and Outreach Initiative and the Historic Preservation Studio's Future Places Project, Dillon authored and illustrated the document with a goal of making practical historic preservation knowledge more accessible to homeowners living in Atlanta's 24 Landmark, Historic, and Conservation Districts. The document will act as a stylistic and constructional guide for Certificate of Appropriateness applicants, while will ultimately streamline the review process for city staff. Responsible for the graphic design, drawings, diagrams, narrative, and notes, Dillon's work was featured in workshops during the City's Historic Preservation Week last October.
