From Athen to Savannah: An Architectural Genealogy for the Tower of the Winds was written and filmed in Dillon's Digital Practices for Preservation Studio. Though his research Dillon explored a unique stylistic phenomenon in Savannah, the Tower of the Winds Order. Here, he synthesized his studies of preservation and architecture in the digital realm looking at the family tree of this architectural detail. Rather than analyzing traditional genealogy of parents to children, Dillon focuses on a different kind of relationship: one of architects and their inspiration. Tracing the heritage of the Tower of the Winds, Dillon begins in antiquity in order to understand how such 'genes' are passed through buildings while also questioning who or what is passing them along. In the process, Dillon not only built skills of architectural research, but graphic design and video presentation.
